Chilled Pubs, a well-known East Midlands brand looking to expand into 10 new pubs asked us to assist with the design and development of a variety of products to help their growth. The briefs included creating the brand’s design guidelines, developing a multi-pub loyalty app and building a website.
Our first challenge was to examine Chilled Pubs’ existing brand design to develop a set of centralised guidelines for existing and future pubs within the group to ensure brand consistency across all their properties.
Next, we developed the functionality and design for a loyalty app allowing customers to gain instant rewards for purchases in the bar. Our solution delivered a customisable app which, from a creative standpoint, was bespoke to each pub. The back end of the app, however, fed into a central management system allowing assets and promotions to be shared across all of the pubs in the group.
In addition to offering rewards, the app featured information about the pubs and their menus, allowed customers to send gifts to friends, book a table, call a taxi or write a review.
The third part of the brief gave us the opportunity to stress test our brand guidelines in situ. We created the website for a new pub, The Bull’s Head, balancing the unique selling points of the individual pub with the warmth and personality that the Chilled Pubs brand has come to represent.
