Senior Project Manager
I studied Archaeology in the 1990s and, as so often happens, fell into an IT job. A kindly IT director at Games Workshop helped me requalify, and I obtained an MSc in Management of IT, along with a number of Microsoft qualifications along the way. I am also a PRINCE2 Practitioner and a Professional Scrum Master.
I have worked on large ERP system projects, retail systems, gaming machines, ticketing and access control systems in stadia, and, of course, eccommerce and brochure websites, as well as brand development and marketing campaign projects. My A-Levels in Psychology and Technology help me most days, while Biology less so. GCSE Food Studies helps me eat properly…
Around ten years ago, I moved into project managing software development using Agile frameworks, and about seven years ago I transitioned into digital agency life. Understanding how to communicate across Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, and Kanban has proved to be hugely useful.
My current career path sees me helping to organise digital agencies, where team cohesion and rapid delivery are critical. I enjoy putting people and teams at the heart of project delivery through servant leadership.
I have lived and worked in Australia and have managed projects across Scandinavia, Benelux, Ireland, and as far south as Gibraltar. I really enjoy travelling and immersing myself in other cultures.
When I am not on duty, I like to travel, whether to music festivals, up mountains, or on adventurous road trips.
My perfect project would be for Porsche in Germany and would require me to test drive their products. I am a bit of a petrolhead.
Fun Fact
In my teens, I was part of the Venture Scouts and learned about alpine mountaineering. In my twenties, I climbed a number of mountains over 4000 metres, including the highest peak entirely in Switzerland, the Dom de Mischabel at 4545 metres.
