Hello! Meet Joe!
Tell us about your employment history…
Framework is actually my first ‘proper’ job! I joined the team as a junior web developer straight out of sixth form when I was 18. I’ve always had a keen interest in the digital sector, and web development is especially interesting to me in terms of how creative it can be, and the satisfaction you can get from finding solutions to make the client’s vision a reality. I like the fact that there is no grey area with development…. It either works or it doesn’t and that suits my analytical brain perfectly!
What have been the highlight of your life so far?
A highlight of my career has definitely been joining the Framework Design team! It really has allowed me to develop my skills and work on so many interesting projects. The team is also a great bunch of people to work with (but don’t tell them I said that!)
A personal highlight for me was playing a full game of football at the City Ground (Nottingham Forest’s stadium) for my old football club. It was a cup final and the Forest staff arranged for us to play there. That was pretty cool… not just because we won!
Do you have any careers goals?
I have a couple of goals that I would like to hit in the future. I would love to work with a big sports brand or football club! I would also like to have the opportunity to work on a few more systems-based websites and applications as I think that would be really interesting to get to grips with. In five years time, I see myself taking on a more senior role that would allow me to get involved with more strategic decisions for the company.
What do you do when you are not hanging out at Framework Towers?
I’m a big fan of staying fit and exercising in my spare time. I love running, cycling and playing football when I can. I really enjoy travelling to different cities and countries and trying out the local food, as well as having a look around the tourist sights. Pre-COVID, I enjoyed a good ‘warehouse rave’ and the odd pub trip with my mates! Looking forward to when it’s safe to get back to those pastimes! In complete contrast to having a large one, I am currently training for the Ironman UK race in 2022!
